Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Define manufacturing methods for complex sheet-metal aerostructures such as ribs, brackets, skins, and assemblies that must meet strict aerospace tolerances and material requirements.
  • Create robust process documentation including manufacturing plans, work instructions, and support the inspection criteria development that is aligned with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP, customer specs).
  • Perform manufacturability reviews to identify risks early, reduce complexity, and ensure the design can be fabricated reliably at scale.
  • Assist in development of the first-article process qualification, including tooling trials, capability studies, and FAIR packages to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize processes for rate readiness by reducing variation, improving cycle times, and ensuring the production line can support ramp-up without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, quality, and program teams to ensure materials, tooling, and inspection resources are ready for launch.
  • Drive issue resolution during prototype builds by troubleshooting forming challenges, distortion, spring back, or assembly fit-up problems.
  • Support customer and regulatory audits by demonstrating process control, traceability, and compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards.
  • Recommend process improvements to improve quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Must have thorough understanding of GD&T
  • Advanced Engineering Software and ERP Software is preferred.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing experience related to mechanical components for aerospace preferred
  • 3 to 5 years' experience with sheet metal fabrications and welding required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering field highly preferred
  • Work onsite, in the office, sitting for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Expert ability to read and interpret aerospace drawings, specifications, and customer requirements, including contracts
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills within a production environment
  • The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, deadline critical production environment
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
  • Utilization of Microsoft Office applications including Teams and other
  • Possess a high degree of initiative and be self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision.
