Job Description:

TSC'sAISRDivision is actively recruiting a dynamicSoftwareEngineer to supportdevelopment and testing offlightcomponentsfor a Group 4/5UAV.An ideal candidate is self-directed and motivated, withexperience in thedevelopment ofsoftware programming forautonomous vehicles,electromechanicaldevices, andaerospace/aviation platforms.Candidateswithrelevant technicalexperience,demonstrateddevelopment capabilities,andproblem-solvingskills are encouraged to apply. The selected individualwillprogramdesign components,helpbring-upand test prototypes, and integrate them intoUASplatforms with a multi-disciplinaryteam.As akeyengineeringposition within thedevelopment and testteam, theUAS Engineerwill have up to10% traveltimetodevelopmentsitesand test ranges.Other duties may be assigned as new technologies and capabilities are deployed.

This position requires ahands-onindividual with experience indevelopment, integration, and test ofembedded systems andautonomous vehicle control systems,includingpayload integration, sensor integration, and programming, wire harness design,enclosurebuilding, testing, and electrical analysis.TSC's AISR teamdesigns, builds,and operates a family of long endurance UAS sustaining 24/7 operations at multiple sites around the world.This position requires an individual familiar withelectronicsand application readiness to apply design principles toall phases of UASproduct life cycle, from initialdevelopment through operations.Anindividual in this position needs tolearn andknow theelectricaland sensorsystemson UAS and utilize his/herengineering skills to developtangiblesolutionsto meetrapid timelines and create successfulelectrical designoutcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and maintain clean,well-documented, efficient code forembedded systems

  • Assist indebuggingand testingalarger codebasewith a multi-developer team.Conduct developmental test toidentify/fix issues

  • Supportpiecesof detailedsoftwaresystem and development activities forUAS platforms, including upfront analysis, prototyping, end item development and evaluation in laboratoryand field test environments

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team locally and across physical locations

  • Work with product ownerstobuild software solutions forcorresponding requirements

  • Create workablesoftwaresolutions in rapid timeline to support requirementsandtroubleshoot real world challenges

RequiredQualifications:

  • Associate/Bachelor's degree inComputerScience,Electrical Engineering,Computer Engineering,Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace engineering,or a related field.

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD security clearance

  • Proficiency in programming languages such asC/C++, Python,MATLAB, JavaScript

  • Experience with embedded systemsforautonomous vehicles.

  • Software engineeringfoundation: strongunderstanding of core concepts includingdesignof data structures, algorithm application, analysis, optimization,andtesting

  • Appliedmathematics,differentialequations, linear algebra,andstatistics

  • Basic software programmingof electrical components,retrievaland evaluation of data,changing code and settings on devices

  • Ability to communicateeffectively in engineering environment, documentand explain your workto others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands on experiencewriting computer code for applications to control physical devicesfrom initial development to deployment.

  • Significant experience developing software for unmanned and autonomous vehicles, including air vehicles

  • Experience designing, building, and testingelectricalsubsystems for an airborne platform

  • Design and integration of software control programs in electromechanical systems

  • Demonstrated technical expertise, attention to detail, precision engineering standards.

  • Possess excellent organizational and communications skills

  • Able to prioritize work and maximize personal and team productivity
