Client Partner/Sr. Client Partner (Remote Eligible)
About Mathematica:
Mathematica applies expertise at the intersection of data, methods, policy, and practice to improve well-being around the world. We collaborate closely with public- and private-sector partners to translate big questions into deep insights that improve programs, refine strategies, and enhance understanding using data science and analytics. Our work yields actionable information to guide decisions in wide-ranging policy areas, from health, education, early childhood, and family support to nutrition, employment, disability, and international development. Mathematica offers our employees competitive salaries, and a comprehensive benefits package, as well as the advantages of being 100 percent employee owned. As an employee stock owner, you will experience financial benefits of ESOP holdings that have increased in tandem with the company's growth and financial strength. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Client Partner / Senior Client Partner is a senior
business development and technology advisory role within Mathematica's Data
Solutions Division. Reporting to the Senior Director and Managing Client
Partner, this position drives growth by helping clients define and execute
data, analytics, AI, and technology-enabled strategies that improve mission and
operational outcomes.
The role serves as a trusted advisor to clients and internal
leadership, providing market insight, solution strategy, and pursuit leadership
across Mathematica's portfolio of federal, state, commercial, and foundation
clients. Operating within a highly matrixed environment, the Client Partner
supports multiple divisions and solution areas, connecting client needs,
technology capabilities, acquisition strategies, and delivery approaches into
differentiated solutions that position Mathematica for growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop
growth strategies, account plans, and qualified opportunity backlogs
aligned to Mathematica's Data Solutions priorities. - Build
and maintain relationships with client executives, acquisition
stakeholders, technology leaders, and strategic partners. - Assess
client missions, business objectives, operating environments, and
technology ecosystems to identify opportunities for data, analytics, AI,
and technology-enabled solutions. - Define
differentiated solution strategies that align client requirements,
acquisition objectives, partner capabilities, and Mathematica strengths. - Lead
opportunity shaping, capture planning, competitive assessments,
stakeholder analysis, teaming strategies, and price-to-win investigations. - Define
solution concepts, win strategies, technical approaches, and value
propositions that inform proposals, demonstrations, presentations, and
other pursuit activities. - Identify
and guide strategic pre-sales investments, including prototypes,
accelerators, demonstrations, pilots, and proof-of-concept activities. - Advise
internal and client stakeholders on technology, analytics, AI, DataOps,
AnalyticsOps, AIOps, governance, and operating model considerations. - Collaborate
across business development, delivery, technology, research, and
operational teams to align growth priorities with delivery capabilities. - Lead
through influence and a servant leadership mindset, enabling teams to
develop practical, executable, and client-centered solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- 12+
years of experience in technology consulting, business development,
solution strategy, systems integration, solution architecture, technology
advisory, or related fields. Equivalent combinations of education and
experience will be considered. - Demonstrated
success leading growth initiatives, capture efforts, and strategic
pursuits in federal, state, commercial, foundation, or other
mission-driven environments. - Experience
developing technology-enabled solutions involving data engineering,
analytics, AI, cloud, digital services, enterprise platforms, or related
capabilities. - Experience
conducting investigatory analysis to support pricing strategies,
competitive positioning, and price-to-win assessments. - Experience
establishing and managing teaming agreements, strategic partnerships,
alliance relationships, and partner ecosystems. - Exceptional
written and verbal communication skills, including executive
presentations, solution briefings, workshops, and client-facing
communications.

- Candidates should possess meaningful experience in one or
more domains served by Mathematica, including: Health, Public Health, Human
Services, Education, Employment and Workforce Development, State Government, Federal
Civilian Agencies, Social Policy Research, and/or Commercial markets pertaining
these domains.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience
working for a major federal and/or state systems integrator, management
consulting firm, technology services provider, or digital transformation
organization. - Strong
understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), federal and
state procurement processes, contract vehicles, and acquisition
strategies. - Experience
applying enterprise architecture, business architecture, technical
architecture, solution architecture, or operating model frameworks. - Graduate
degree in business, public policy, information systems, computer science,
engineering, analytics, or a related field.
Compensation

At Mathematica, we understand the importance of building relationships with colleagues. If you're not located near one of our offices but would like opportunities to meet up with co-workers, we offer coworking spaces where available. Ask your Talent Acquisition partner for more information about this opportunity and whether it's an option in your area.
Any offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check. Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo security clearance as a condition of working on the project. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to obtain the requisite security clearance. Additionally, if you participate in/complete the application process and are denied, Mathematica may choose to terminate your employment.
We take pride in our employees and in their commitment to excellence. We encourage staff to collaborate in developing creative solutions to difficult problems and to share the responsibility and enjoyment of carrying out complex projects. This collegial spirit has helped us earn our reputation for innovative and high quality work.
