Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the COSM SMART Center as a Math Tutor on the Savannah Campus beginning Fall 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
  • Provides instructional math tutoring and assistance with basic concepts, specific problems, homework, and test preparation
  • Instructs students in the most effective use of textbooks and instructional materials and provides encouragement and personal support
  • Works throughout the semester towards completion of CRLA level 1 tutor training

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education
  • Successful completion of MATH 1441 (Calculus I) and MATH 2242 (Calculus II) or equivalent courses with a grade of "B" or better

Proposed Salary
$14.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
