Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Department of Mathematical Science as a Teaching Assistant on the Armstrong Campus beginning Fall 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities

• Meets weekly with assigned professor for calculus I or II course to plan student-led class period
• Leads 55-minute calculus recitation session
• Reports back to professor with attendance and minor grading of quizzes as requested by professor

Shift Specifics

• Up to 6 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education

• Successful completion of MATH 1441 (Calculus I) and MATH 2242 (Calculus II) or equivalent courses with a grade of "B" or better

Proposed Salary
$14.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
