Advance Manufacturing Engineering Instructor

Niagara Career & Technical Career Education Center- Sanborn, New York

Job Description: The individual must be able to instruct on theory and provide practical workplace hands-on opportunities.  The candidate must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Machine Tool and CNC manufacturing field and be able to follow a set curriculum and content specific course outline in the various areas of machining, tools and equipment required for the career.   Will be responsible for the integration teaching of English, Math, and Science.  The individual must have the ability to perform oversight of individual student work, evaluation of progress, and forging a solid working knowledge required in the workplace.  Individual should have or be eligible for certification upon hire.  Prior teaching experience is desired.  Regular attendance and dependability is required.  Other responsibilities may be assigned.  The assignment is subject to change. Orleans/Niagara BOCES is able to support experienced candidates in obtaining certification. 

 The student objectives for the program are: 

  •  To develop skill in the use of tools and equipment common to Machine Tool CNC.
  • To develop a basic understanding of Machine Tool CNC.
  • To develop positive work habits which include assuming responsibility, following instructions and the ability to work with others.
  • To develop job seeking employability skills necessary to succeed in the working world.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

 The Machine Tool CNC instructor will be responsible for units of study including but not limited to the following: Layout and part inspection; bench work; drill press; grinding; lathe and milling machines to blueprint reading; machines and tools. The instructor should have experience in the supervisory capacity over others, be able to evaluate individual student progress, and make sure that each student can meet workplace standards required in the field. A priority on machine and hand tool safety, instructing proper process and personal protective equipment safety is a must.  

Requirements: Eligibility for New York State Certification in Machine Tool Operation/Machine Shop 7-12. 

Anticipated Salary: $54,000-$92,000 commensurate with experience.  Excellent benefits package.
