The Department of Mathematics at Indiana University Bloomington seeks applications for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor with appointment beginning in Fall 2026. Exceptional candidates at higher ranks will be considered as well. Outstanding candidates with a PhD earned by the date of appointment in any area of pure and applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong research program in probability. The department maintains strong research groups in most principal fields of mathematics, and is committed to an inclusive vision of excellence. The base teaching load for research-active faculty is three courses per year.
