More than 8,400 diverse student learners are provided an exceptional educational experience throughout the district's five Elementary Schools (PreK-5), Spanish Immersion School (PreK-5), Middle School (6-8), High School (9-12), Transition Program, and K-12 Online School.  Our dedicated staff are caring, knowledgeable and a vital facet of our Eagle Nation. 
Eden Prairie Schools has an opening for a Reading Support Paraprofessional.  The Reading Support Paraprofessional provides scripted instructional matches in reading for students needing additional modeling and practice of letter sounds, word blending, or oral reading fluency. 
 




POSITION: Reading Support Paraprofessional LOCATION: Eden Prairie Online CLASSIFICATION: MSEA Level II RATE OF PAY: $21.11/hour HOURS PER DAY: 5.5 hours START & ENDING TIME: 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM WORKING DAYS PER YEAR: 178 PAID HOLIDAYS: 6 QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
  • Two year degree or higher, 60 credits toward a degree, or obtain a passing score on the MN approved assessment ParaPro test, which measures math and reading skills.
  • One year experience working with children.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to read and provide scripted instructional matches to build reading skills.
  • Enjoy tutoring the subject for which services are being provided.
  • Be able to explain concepts to others effectively
  • Effectively communicate instructional matches to ensure academic success
  • Work comfortably with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Possess good organizational skills and complete paperwork in a timely manner
  • Exhibit patience and positive attitudes in establishing an encouraging learning environment.
TESTING REQUIRED:

All job offers from Eden Prairie Schools are conditioned upon passing a pre-employment criminal background check and ISD 272 School Board approval.  Offers for these positions will also be conditioned upon passing a pre-employment physical physical abilities test.
