What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a maternity nurse educator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Maternity Nurse Educator, you need advanced clinical expertise in maternal and newborn care, typically supported by a BSN or MSN and current RN licensure, along with experience in maternity nursing. Familiarity with simulation technology, electronic health records (EHRs), and teaching certifications such as CNE (Certified Nurse Educator) is highly valuable.
