Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialty

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialty to join the team. This role will be part-time day shift.

Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialty Job Responsibilities:

  • Correctly identifies patients and their files ensuring a high degree of accuracy, as evidenced by the lack of mislabeled films and files. Tracks patients according to department procedures. Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections.
  • Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services, and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records.
  • Demonstrates patient safety in the department by use of side rails, braking mechanisms, and patient monitoring, as demonstrated by risk management reports.
  • Reports, documents, and corrects any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions, as evidenced by the patient/employee incidence reports to department-specific log books.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Start; Successful completion of the Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program is required within 1 month for team members without the Nuchal Translucency Certification.; Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics & Gynecology Upon Start; Must be a registered diagnostic sonographer in OB to be considered for this job(ARDMS)
  • Licensure - None required
  • Experience - Two years of hospital or doctor's office-based experience in the performance of specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies
  • Education - Degree from Accredited Sonography Training Program
