The Opportunity

As a Project Manager with Grid Integration, you will play a key role in delivering complex power systems and power delivery projects that help maintain the reliability, safety, and performance of critical electrical infrastructure. In this role, you will manage projects across engineering, procurement, and construction activities, guiding projects from planning and execution through closeout while balancing schedule, cost, quality, and customer expectations. You will work closely with customers, supply chain teams, engineering professionals, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate project execution, manage risks and opportunities, monitor progress, and support successful project outcomes. Your work will directly contribute to the safe delivery of energy infrastructure projects while helping customers achieve their operational goals. This position offers the opportunity to expand your experience across project management, contract administration, procurement coordination, financial oversight, customer engagement, and project execution within the power industry.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Develop and manage project execution plans to achieve project goals and meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain overall project schedules, monitor progress, and coordinate updates to support successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate resource planning and utilization across internal teams and subcontracted partners.
  • Partner with project stakeholders to support project-specific safety planning and safe execution practices.
  • Manage project budgets, cash flow, forecasts, and performance tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project risks and opportunities, implementing actions that support project performance and business outcomes.
  • Communicate project status, progress, risks, and financial performance to customers and stakeholders through regular reporting.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and engineering teams to support procurement planning, subcontracting activities, supplier engagement, and change order management.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, construction management, or a related field with 8+ years of experience in large, complex EPC project management from initiation through execution and closeout.
  • Experience managing engineering, procurement and construction EPC projects delivering power systems, power delivery, utility, transmission, distribution, substation, or electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Experience developing and managing project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and project performance metrics.
  • Understanding of project contracts, terms and conditions, and project-related risk management practices.
  • Experience working with procurement, subcontracting, supplier coordination, and project delivery stakeholders.
  • Experience managing project budgets, cost forecasts, revenue forecasts, cash flow, earned value management systems (EVMS), and project performance reporting.
  • Experience delivering turnkey substation projects is an advantage; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, technical, and business skills with the ability to collaborate, negotiate, solve complex problems, and support customer satisfaction.
