What you will do:
The Materials Manager (Individual Contributor) is a key member of the Global Supply Chain organization responsible for end-to-end material availability, delivery performance, supplier coordination, and inventory health for assigned parts, commodities, or programs. Operating without direct supervisory responsibilities, this role influences cross-functional partners and suppliers to ensure stable material flow, mitigate risks, and support customer and program requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, deep understanding of material planning and supplier operations, and the ability to lead cross-functional efforts through data-driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary materials focal for assigned suppliers, parts, or commodity families within Global Supply Chain.
  • Own and manage critical parts lists, delivery schedules, and risk-tracking tools to ensure material availability.
  • Coordinate delivery performance, recovery actions, and short-term/long-term schedules with suppliers.
  • Lead root-cause identification and corrective-action development for missed commitments, shortages, or supply constraints.
  • Maintain visibility into supplier WIP, production status, lead-time adherence, and bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Supplier Development, Quality, Engineering, Program Management, and Operations to address material issues and enable stable delivery performance.
  • Support supplier readiness and planning for configuration changes, new part introductions, or volume shifts.
  • Ensure accurate MRP planning by validating lead times, capacities, and demand alignment; update planning parameters as required.
  • Prepare and maintain reports including material availability metrics, shortage reports, delivery performance dashboards, and inventory exposure summaries.
  • Participate in internal and external customer meetings, providing updates on supplier delivery health and mitigation plans.
  • Drive or support supply chain improvement projects focused on lead-time reduction, delivery assurance, data accuracy, and risk mitigation.
  • Influence cross-functional teams using data, communication, and coordination skills, without direct people leadership.

Qualifications you must have:
  • A University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Experience with MRP systems and/or material planning processes

Qualifications we prefer:
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working within a global supply chain network or at an aerospace or industrial supplier
  • Familiarity with production planning, inventory management, capacity analysis, and delivery assurance
  • Knowledge of Lean principles or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Business Warehouse, or Kinaxis

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
