Lyten is looking for a Materials Engineering Intern who will assist in developing analytical and electrochemical techniques to characterize battery electrolytes and establish electrolyte property - cell performance relationships.
Responsibilities:
Develop analytical and electrochemical techniques to characterize battery electrolytes and establish electrolyte property - cell performance relationships.
Operate a variety of analytical and electrochemical instruments using established SOPs and make robust, reliable measurements.
Analyze data using statistical techniques and carefully document results.
Survey the literature to identify relevant techniques and contextualize work.
Regularly communicate status of work assignments, timelines for completion, issues with equipment, and results to the wider team.
Observe all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment.
Be a self-starter and work independently with a can-do attitude.
Requirements:
Senior year Bachelors student or enrolled in graduate program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
Experience working in wet laboratories and using laboratory equipment and instrumentation to collect and analyze data.
Curious, humble, and willing to learn. Safety-first mindset.
Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 20-30 lbs.
  • Able to stand for up to 5 hours
Compensations Range: The expected base salary range for this position is between $25.00 - $32.00 The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
