Join the Crete United Mechanical Team!
Crete United is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Driver to transport equipment and materials to commercial job sites throughout Quad Cities and surrounding areas. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, takes pride in safe equipment operation, and wants to be part of a growing mechanical contractor.
You'll primarily operate a company pickup truck with a flatbed trailer, delivering equipment & materials that help our field teams complete projects efficiently and safely.
Driver - Equipment & Jobsite Support
Location - Davenport, IA
Type: Full-time permanent employment
Pay: Up to $25 per hour (DOE)
Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a company pickup truck and flatbed trailer.
  • Transport equipment including:

    • Scissor lifts
    • Mini excavators
    • Skid steers
    • Jobsite materials and tools

  • Deliver and retrieve equipment & materials for job sites throughout the Quad Cities region and surrounding areas!
  • Secure loads in accordance with DOT and company safety standards.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections.
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment & materials.
  • Coordinate deliveries with project managers, dispatch, and field personnel.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of company vehicles and trailers.
  • Keep accurate delivery logs and communicate any maintenance or scheduling issues.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Iowa driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a Drug screen and Background Check.
  • Experience towing trailers and transporting equipment preferred.
  • Ability to safely load, secure, and unload construction equipment.
  • Comfortable operating or assisting with loading equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, and scissor lifts.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CDL is not required, but candidates will need to obtain a CDL within six (6) months of employment are strongly preferred. Hometown Mechanical is willing to work with the right candidate toward this goal.
