Headquartered in Orange, CA, BAPKO Metal Inc. is one of California’s most reputable and trusted self-performing contractors specializing in structural steel, miscellaneous steel, architectural metals, and stairs. Our quality craftsmanship can be found in the steel structures supporting a diverse range of projects, and in the architectural details enhancing commercial, healthcare, and educational facilities across California.


We need an experienced and reliable professional to drive our trucks on a local route supporting our LA/OC Division. The ideal candidate will have experience with local travel, comfortable working independently and will enjoy the flexibility this route offers. We're looking for a Steel Delivery Class B Driver who is responsible, detail-oriented and capable of operating large machinery.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to the following:

  • Know what deliveries and/or pick-ups are to be made in the scheduled order prior to leaving yard
  • Make morning inspections on truck prior to leaving yard
  • Properly strap/tie down material on truck
  • Cross check load list against anchors, bolts and any equipment that’s loaded or to be loaded on truck(s) with Shipping Manager
  • Call foreman/GF or superintendent prior to leaving yard and 15-20 minutes prior to arriving to job site
  • Make routine checks on trucks while material is being offloaded in field
  • Cross check load list against anchors, bolts and any equipment that’s to be offloaded and or delivered to job-site with G.C. and/or BAPKO Employee
  • Get a print and signed signature (know who signed for it) on ALL delivery paperwork
  • On incoming items picked up get a print and/or signed signature from Shipping & Receiving Manager
  • Check in with Shipping & Receiving Manager after every stop for an update and to ensure that scheduling has or has not changed
  • Keep trucks neat and clean
  • Other duties as assigned and required
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
Requirements:

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • GED/High School Diploma (Not Necessarily Needed) but preferred
  • Minimum of 3 yrs. related experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Must have a Valid Class B License
  • Must possess and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Medical Card)
