Materials Developer
Location: Beaverton, Oregon (Hybrid: onsite Monday-Thursdays, and can work remotely from home on Fridays)
Role Overview
This position supports apparel materials development on a seasonal basis for sportswear and lifestyle products, including base textiles, prints, and dyes. This is a technical role focused on managing the material development process from design brief to production. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with product creation teams, including designers, technical developers, and product managers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the technical aspects of material development based on design briefs.
  • Oversee material testing and validation processes.
  • Set up materials in the system for production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional product creation teams.
  • Apply technical knowledge of yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience in materials development is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with PCX, Smartsheet, and Miro is required. Candidates must possess technical materials knowledge, including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience at a large retail brand is preferred.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product creation teams is beneficial.
