Job description

This position will work directly with senior level staff to facilitate project completion, work with clients, and manage project tasks. The ideal person for this position will be interested in a variety of project types that integrate multiple disciplines within the geotechnical engineering field.

 Responsibilities

  • Develop appropriate scope of services and manage all aspects of geotechnical explorations and CMT projects including proposal preparation, analysis, report preparation, client communications, and field observations.
  • Provide geotechnical expertise, recommendations, and reports for clients. Perform calculations and analysis for bearing capacity, settlement, deep foundation design, and slope stability analysis.
  • Assist with technical oversight of the soils and materials testing laboratory operations in Granger IN.
  • Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt).
  • In conjunction with other WCG personnel, provide on-site recommendations for soil related construction issues (e.g. foundation subgrade inspection, proof rolling observations etc.).
  • Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor’s representatives and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Geotechnical engineering highly preferred
  • At least 2-5 years of relevant project experience
  • Proficiency in gINT,  Microsoft Word and Excel
  • EIT or P.E. registration a plus
  • Solid written and oral communication skills to include proposal writing and geotechnical reporting
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and willingness to take on diverse challenges
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel out of town.
