As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in managing the daily flow of product by verifying, packing, and recording incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring inventory accuracy and on time delivery.

Reporting into the Material Manager , this position is also responsible for preparing bills for lading, loading/unloading trucks, inspecting items for damage, and maintaining organized, safe warehouse records.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Load and unload trucks using a forklift or overhead crane
  • Ensure optimal use of warehouse space and place merchandise in designated locations
  • Receive goods and verify their accuracy against purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Inform the warehouse manager of any discrepancies between the receiving slip and the purchase order
  • Palletize and pack parts and air handling units for shipment, ensuring adherence to shipping instructions
  • Wrap air handling units using plastic film
  • Load ventilation units onto a flatbed truck using an overhead crane

Required Experience & Skills

  • High school diploma
  • 2 to 3 years of warehouse experience
  • Valid forklift operator's license, an asset
  • Strong organizational skills, methodical approach, and ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • Responsible, self-motivated, and a good team player
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license, an asset
  • Knowledge and practical experience with standard computer applications
  • Good physical ability to lift heavy objects
  • Crane Safety knowledge/experience helpful
