How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
As the material manager on this campus, you will be responsible to oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring efficient inventory management and supplier relationships to support production for the Ingenia portion of the organization. This position is tactical in nature and involves tasks like inventory management, procurement, supplier relations and logistics coordination. Key to this role will be to learn in a fast past environment.
Reporting into the Ingenia Plant Manager and Site Leader, this position is also responsible for training operations staff, signing purchase orders and tracking the flow of inventory through the company's supply chain
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities to SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
1.Inventory management :
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that materials are available when needed while avoiding excess stock that could lead to waste.
  • Approximate value of inventory under management will be $30M.

2.Procurement :
  • Procure materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for production
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to acquire materials at optimal costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Plan inventory levels and manage stock levels to ensure materials are available when needed
  • Approximate value of annual purchase is $100M.

3.Supplier relations :
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing any issues that arise and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

4.Logistics Coordination :
  • Oversee the logistics of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring alignment with production schedules and operational needs.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • This position supports both onsite businesses by managing the shipping and receiving staff.

5.Compliance :
  • Ensure all material management activities comply with industry standards and regulations, including environmental laws.

6.Team management :
  • Lead and develop the materials management team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation.
