Position Overview

Kiewit's Materials Coordinators are highly organized and proactive in overseeing the efficient procurement, tracking, storage, and distribution of materials for our dynamic construction projects. This critical role ensures project success by maintaining proper inventory control, managing logistics, and fostering strong supplier relationships.  If you have experience in materials management within the construction or industrial sectors, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and values safety and teamwork, apply to this role. This is a fly-in/out position requiring rotational travel.

Responsibilities
  • Promote a safety-first mentality and culture. 
  • Control and involvement of receipt, storage, and issuance of project materials. 
  • Assist in the completion of project mobilization and/or demobilization effort. 
  • Assist Material Manager on field material handling activities.
  • Prepare and distribute material management specific reports to project staff. (Daily Doc, OSD&E, MRR, PO, etc.) 
  • Promote material control plan and communicate material management procedures to project team.
  • Perform receiving and processing functions on varying size of projects. 
  • Provide project support for staff interfacing with site management and vendors, subcontractors and service providers.
  • Represent the company in logistical negotiations and coordination with suppliers.
  • Track and coordinate OSD&E resolution 
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree OR minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial construction related role
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and maintain advanced material handling software and databases
  • Working knowledge of site purchasing, execution, estimating and their impact on material management
  • Knowledge of the project goals and how to contribute to those goals
  • Ability to participate in project work planning
  • Working knowledge of prime contract requirements for project execution 
  • Possess the ability to track equipment, materials, labor budgets, trends, and forecasts
  • Ability to utilize reporting skills including monitoring progress curves, developing material and equipment status reports 
  • Possess the ability to coordinate and lead small crew for the safe execution of material handling activities
  • Must possess strong leadership and management skills 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in teams
