Job description

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Elmhurst Service Group Leader, the Material Handler is an entry level training position which ultimately will lead to being assigned to a work cell at the Service Center for the purpose of supporting the Cell Lead Operator in processing Customer Orders in an efficient and timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • During an employee's tenure at this position, they shall receive training as a material handler.
  • Follows direction of "trainer".
  • Provides "feedback" to trainer to assess competency level.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures & rules.
  • Adheres to all quality procedures at the facility.
  • Processes orders in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Operates equipment to ensure the highest quality standard, while maintaining an effective productivity rate.
  • Participates in equipment maintenance duties as required.
  • Continually inspects finished product for conformance to customer & materion standards & requirements.
  • Takes appropriate action to prevent escape of "non-conforming" material.
  • Maintains work area in a neat, clean, and organized manner.
  • Responsible to assist machine operator in the orderly and efficient flow of material in a slitting work center.
  • Pulls stock as necessary from inventory.
  • Loads material as necessary on payoff equipment.
  • Unloads finished cuts and sidecuts as necessary.
  • Fills out all required order documentation and forms.
  • Returns remnant material to inventory.
  • Participates in "team" activities as required.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft products is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Self-motivated and able to initiate action without direction required.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize required.

Pay Range:
$21.18 - $23.57
