OCS also offers onsite training and support, enabling facility teams to monitor energy consumption, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance in real time.The Controls Project Manager directs projects from sales turnover through closeout, ensuring designs, permits, materials, labor, and field installation stay on schedule, on budget, and aligned with customer expectations. This position routinely visits project sites to oversee installation, attend progress meetings, resolve issues, and support project execution.What you'll doCreate and maintain project plans covering scope, budget, timeline, materials, and resources.Lead pre-construction planning. Define task scope, build schedules, and adjust for risks and roadblocks.Procure and coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractors to protect margins.Review and execute work based on contracts, drawings, blueprints, scope documents, budgets, and sequences of operation.Serve as the escalation point for project risks, requests for information, and change orders.Communicate clearly with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.Lead weekly internal and customer meetings and present project status and outcomes.Ensure project delivery meets proposals, specifications, and customer expectations. Provide feedback to sales to improve accuracy.Manage closeout activities: graphics, startup, punch lists, O&M manuals, as-builts, owner training, and warranty coordination.Build relationships with customer site teams and support sales activities for repeat and new work.Manage project cash flow, including progress billing, collections support, and resource planning.Keep all project documentation current, accurate, and accessible.Participate in monthly meetings with service department coordinating the completed project turnover to service with service sales and controls team lead, passing on vital information for parties to be included in training and better prepared for after warranty service request.Perform other duties as assigned.Required skills, knowledge, and experience:Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent training and experience in a similar field.Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, control drawings, network diagrams, equipment submittals, wiring schematics, and sequences of operation.Understanding of HVAC fundamentals (air handlers, ductwork, mechanical piping, VAVs, boilers, chillers, pumps, sensors, actuators).Familiarity with BACnet/MSTP/IP networks and basic troubleshooting logic.Ability to build schedules, track budgets, manage change orders, and forecast labor.Solid documentation discipline for RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.Clear communication skills and the ability to delegate tasks between both engineering and field operations, lead meetings, and collaborate cross functionally.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), and project management software (BidTracer, Procore, eComm).Physical Demands:Work is performed in a combination of an office environment which, requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards; and on job sites, which requires the ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
