Analytical Laboratory Technician / QC Analyst I

Location: High Point, NC
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

Adecco is currently seeking an Analytical Laboratory Technician / QC Analyst I for an opportunity with a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in High Point, North Carolina. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or another physical science who is interested in building a career in pharmaceutical quality control and analytical testing.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging components, finished products, stability samples, and other laboratory samples.

  • Execute validated analytical testing methods using HPLC, GC, LC/MS, dissolution, spectroscopy, and traditional wet chemistry techniques.

  • Test materials and products for strength, impurities, identity, dissolution, and other quality attributes.

  • Recognize and report out-of-specification (OOS) results, unexpected findings, and non-routine analytical or product issues.

  • Perform daily instrument calibrations and verifications as required.

  • Accurately document laboratory testing, observations, results, and analytical data in accordance with established procedures.

  • Assist with regulatory documentation and communications with internal teams, clients, and outside agencies.

  • Assist with developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Clean and maintain laboratory work areas, instruments, HPLC systems, dissolution equipment, and testing materials.

  • Follow all applicable SOPs, GMP, GLP, safety, and quality requirements.

  • Maintain required compliance and training standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or another physical science required.

  • Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required for the right entry-level candidate.

  • Experience with HPLC, GC, LC/MS, spectroscopy, dissolution testing, or other analytical laboratory techniques is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of analytical chemistry and qualitative/quantitative laboratory testing.

  • Ability to read and follow technical procedures and laboratory documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations and analyze laboratory data.

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical quality and regulatory requirements is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to periodically bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing approximately 10–35 pounds.

  • Ability to use laboratory equipment and perform repetitive hand and finger movements.

  • Ability to work safely with required laboratory PPE.

Required PPE

Safety glasses, safety shoes, laboratory coat, protective gloves, safety apron, and occasional use of an organic respirator.
