Job description

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of TCOM according to program schedule. Duties include reviewing material requirements, generating requisitions, tracking and expediting, and coordinating shipment; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, forecasting and maintaining required inventory levels, costs, and devising solutions to material planning problems.
Working Procedure:
Getting Information - Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Examples of information gathered include; Instructions, drawings, specifications, schedules, invoices, or flow charts
  • Information will need to be gathered from a variety of departments including; Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Accounting, Programs, Logistics, Quality Assurance, and/or Contracts

Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Confer with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Managerial or Supervisory personnel.
  • Attend staff, planning, production and program meetings to provide updated relevant information to the appropriate parties
  • Update and track status in Sharepoint

Interacting With Computers - Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Use computers to enter, access, or retrieve data. Including but not limited to email, MS Office, ERP systems

Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work - Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
  • Forecast the volume and timing of material purchases required to meet firm and anticipated customer orders.
  • Determine time-phased material requirements based on the product structure, build sequence and lead time for both firm and anticipated orders
  • Set up review points for all assignments to keep abreast of job progress and to perform timely and efficient expediting functions, such as shortage reports, expedite reports, and receiving reports
  • Prioritize and expedite materials, documents, information and instructions as needed to support schedule requirements
  • Monitor costs spent, report regularly cost and schedule status
  • Identify, troubleshoot and track earned value status on assigned programs

Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events - Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Interpret the implications of contract provisions that impact material planning and material control
  • Perform follow-up, check status of, and expedite, where necessary, any information needed to complete tasks assigned
  • Determine ledger and work-in progress inventory requirements applying principles of good inventory planning and management

Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings - Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
  • Monitor materials or supplies during production efforts then Initiate and lead residual/surplus material cleanup after each project
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers or other functional groups in solving work problems and issues
  • Develop control feedback procedures to measure actual performance versus planned performance. Prepare variance reports. Analyze results and recommend recovery plans

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education Requirement: Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or equivalent amount of education and experience.
Experience Requirement: Two years of experience in manufacturing, planning or inventory control preferred.
