Summary:
Under the direction of the Quality Control Manager, the Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of Inventory Control Associates and Customer Service Representatives. This role supports operational efficiency by ensuring inventory accuracy, quality standards, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company procedures while promoting a safe and productive work environment.
Essential Functions:
  • Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
  • Estimate material, time, and staffing requirements for projects based on work orders, job specifications, and operational needs.
  • Inform designated associates or departments of damaged, missing, or problematic items.
  • Conduct and oversee inventory counts and inventory control activities as needed.
  • Review work throughout operational processes and upon completion to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards.
  • Transmit and explain work assignments, procedures, and expectations to Inventory Associates.
  • Review records and reports related to production, payroll, shipping, and inventory activities to verify details, monitor performance, and identify trends.
  • Supervise Inventory Associates to ensure adherence to quality standards, productivity expectations, deadlines, and proper procedures while addressing errors or operational issues.
  • Collaborate with associates and management to resolve operational and work-related challenges.
  • Evaluate associate performance and assist with performance reviews and development planning.
  • Assist in counseling associates regarding work-related concerns, professional growth, and career development opportunities.
  • Assist with personnel actions including promotions, transfers, coaching, and disciplinary measures in accordance with company policies.
  • Assess training needs and coordinate or provide training and instruction as necessary.
  • Assist in resolving associate concerns, complaints, and formal grievances in partnership with leadership and Human Resources.
  • Support customer service functions and assist with customer inquiries as needed.
  • Oversee and support product recall processes and inventory-related investigations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.
Qualifications amp; Experience:
  • Previous supervisory experience within a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or inventory control environment required.
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and associate management skills required.
  • Ability to perform operational tasks alongside associates and support more complex assignments when needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
