Job description

As Quality Control Associate, you will be responsible for maintaining a Quality Plan with our customers to cover an inspection process of materials and/or products for conformance to specifications. You will also be responsible of quality control processes, covering support for customers' non-conformity investigation and solution, as well production processes, including the eventual support to customers related to testing techniques.
Responsibilities:
  • Obtain the quality control requirements based on customer's documents, as well applicable to industry standards, to assure the quality of products the first time.
  • Verify product/material meets requirements of CSA specifications and customer's unique specifications. Compares products with work order and drawing for conformance.
  • Maintain all testing/calibration of equipment.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of required third party inspections and calibrations of testing equipment.
  • Examine product/material for defects. Reject defective product/materials and records type of defect.
  • Monitor performance in required areas and according to agreed-upon standards.
  • Work with customers and suppliers where quality issues are impacted and/or affected.
  • Process sales orders and pulls inventory. Package and protect product, as required.
  • Maintain database (MS Excel).
  • Develop/improve internal and external processes and procedures.
  • Host internal and external audits to meet ISO 9001 std.
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 2+ years of industry experience preferred
  • 2+ years of quality assurance / control experience preferred
  • ISO 9001 Auditor experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of a computer-based ERP systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems preferred
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma and or Lean Manufacturing Principals preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of medium and high voltage electrical components preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, datasheets and technical documentation
  • Ability read test reports and make appropriate and accurate recommendations
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience knowledge of Supply Chain processes, such as Sales and Operations Planning, MRP, Forecasting, Demand and Supply Planning, Indirect Procurement, Materials Management and Logistics.
  • Experience with supply chain applications for Planning, Inventory Optimization and Network Design (Blue Yonder, JDC, Tools Group, O9, Oracle, SAP, SAS, APO)
  • Excellent communication and support skills. Ability to explain complex concepts and analytics to non-technical audience. Translate user requirements into actionable data.
  • Aptitude for blending quantitative and qualitative data to tell relevant story
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills, ability to prioritize and handle many projects at once with ever shifting priorities and deadlines with ability to track and manage progress.
  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; easily accepts constructive input from others and can lead cross functional teams to drive for best results in environment with competing objectives.
