Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth assessments to understand the severity and impact of mood disorders in clients, thereby establishing a clear diagnostic picture.
  • Collaborate with clients to create customized treatment plans, focusing on their specific treatment goals, needs, and personal aspirations.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address and manage mood symptoms.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, empowering them with information about treatment options and promoting self-care strategies.
  • Monitor clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure the highest level of care, and provide consistent feedback to clients about their development in therapy.
  • Work in close partnership with psychiatrists and other professionals to deliver integrated care, ensuring all aspects of a client’s well-being are addressed.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of client interactions, assessments, and treatment strategies in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and trainings aimed at enhancing clinical skills and keeping abreast of best practices for mood disorder treatment.
  • Act as an advocate for clients, working to reduce stigma surrounding mental health and supporting their mental health advocacy needs.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be assisting individuals coping with mood disorders, including anxiety-related conditions, and depression. You will engage with a diverse range of clients, understanding their unique experiences and perspectives to tailor your therapeutic approach to each individual’s context and needs.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Virginia.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities, particularly in CBT and DBT.
  • Strong comprehension of psychopharmacology to effectively collaborate with psychiatrists and ensure integrated patient care.
  • Proven success in the effective treatment of mood disorders, evidenced by strong patient outcomes and recovery metrics.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, enabling rapport with a varied clientele from diverse backgrounds.
