Job description

Join us for this exciting new opportunity! Through a new contract award, we have expanded our adoption matching services, and are seeking clinical staff to join our team. Do you have experience working with and assessing children and families? Do you have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills?
This is a part-time, home office-based position, with some travel within your geographic area. The A Family for ME Matching Coordinator - Masters meets with licensed resource families who are interested in adopting as well as children who are awaiting their adoptive family, assess their various skills, interests and abilities, and with the aid of software, make recommendations for adoptive matches.
DUTIES:
  • Work with DHHS to gather information, releases and documents about children and families.
  • Meet with, assess, write biographies and complete other requisite assessment tools and documentation for identified children and families.
  • Review all information (through interviews and documentation) to critically assess for matching attributes and readiness.
  • Enter documentation and requisite data into database(s) within timelines.
  • Assess individuals and families, and make recommendations on adoptive matching using best practices.
  • Provide education and clinical recommendations to program participants that promote adoption readiness and successful adoptions.
  • Communicate with DHHS, perspective families and children per contract and practice expectations.
  • Maximize client engagement in all appropriate recruitment venues.
  • Meet contracted deliverables and program goals.
  • Maintain and demonstrate professionalism, respect, and sensitivity in all communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited school. Maine state licensure of at LMSW/LCSW/LCPC. Must maintain required licensing and certification throughout the duration of employment with Spurwink in this role. Previous experience working with, and assessing children and families is required.
