Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • The job of a match stripe spreader is a job requiring a very large amount of attention and training. It will be imperative that a person performing this job understand the processes set in place and why it is important to follow instructions.
  • Unlike the standard spreaders, you will have the responsibility to conduct the following duties.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn to read a production cut sheet and a tape measure.
  • Verify that the pattern matches the cut sheet.
  • Keep up with the tickets from fabric rolls.
  • Check your spread for proper amount of pieces and that match point is correct.
  • Set the pattern using a match line that will be available to you on the pattern or buy using a swatch.
  • When match stripe spreads are not available, you will be instructed by the supervisor as to what other job or jobs that will need to be done based off needs.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Who is responsible for your safety? "YOU ARE!"
  • Immediately report any work related injury or illness.
  • Keep the work area neat and free of hazards. THE USE OF COMPRESSED AIR WITHOUT PROPER SAFETY NOZZLE IS PROHIBITED FOR CLEAN-UP.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Always ensure proper lifting techniques: avoid bending and twisting at the waist whenever possible.
  • Inspect tools and protective equipment before use.
  • Learn the hazards of the equipment and procedures used on the job.
  • Report any defective, malfunctioning, or suspicious tool, machine, or protective equipment immediately.
  • Participate in safety training and safety meetings.
  • Report any hazards or risks related to policies or procedures.
