Job description

Position Title: Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Exercise Science

Department: Academic Affairs > Exercise and Sport Studies

Position Summary: Warner University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Exercise and Sport Studies to begin in August 2026. Primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of undergraduate courses in exercise science. Example courses include (but are not limited to) Exercise Physiology, Principles of Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition for Exercise and Sport Science, Teaching Health and Personal Fitness, and Exercise and Sport Studies Internship. Other duties include advising and serving on department, college, and university-wide committees. Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Exercise Physiology or a closely related area from a regionally accredited program, and preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching/or practical experience in the field. Candidates who are within a few months of completing a doctoral program will be considered. We seek candidates committed to teaching, online education, as well as research, service, and the mission of the university. The successful candidate will teach primarily in the traditional setting at Warner University's campus in Lake Wales and may teach online as well. The successful candidate may also be expected to help develop a master's degree to be offered through the Exercise and Sport Studies department.


The successful candidate is expected to display a commitment to Christian education, especially as it pertains to the relationship between Exercise and faith. The chosen candidate must affirm and support the university's statement of faith. Preference will be given to candidates who have some degree of theological education or experience in Christian education in an orthodox, evangelical context.

Some experience in teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred. Experience with Moodle or a similar online learning platform is also desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with a terminal degree in Exercise Physiology or related field.
