We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our global corporate accounting team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role is responsible for leading key aspects of the consolidated monthly close process while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial results. This role will also support the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation tools, to drive efficiency, enhance data quality, and strengthen the overall accounting close and reporting process.


The Accounting Manager will supervise a team of six accounting professionals and play a critical role in strengthening accounting processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives (including use of AI to drive efficiencies), enhancing system utilization and supporting audit readiness. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, proven people leadership, and a continuous improvement mindset. Experience in manufacturing and/or public is highly valued.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manager the monthly general ledger (G/L) close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Supervise, coach and develop a team of six accounting professionals responsible for G/L maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and related analyses.
  • Identify, evaluate, and help implement opportunities to leverage automation and artificial intelligence to improve accounting processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance accuracy and scalability.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules; ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies and timely completion.
  • Partner with Assistant Controller to plan and execute initiatives that improve accounting processes, controls and systems.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts to standardize workpapers, enhance documentation, reduce inefficiencies and improve data quality.
  • Drive effective utilization of internal accounting tools (e.g. OneStream), including account reconciliation and task management modules.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory counts and/or cycle count processes, including coordination and issue resolution.
  • Stay current on new accounting standards and lead or support implementation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on department-wide initiatives and special projects.
  • Assist with the planning, execution, and reporting of special projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in public and corporate accounting.
  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution industries is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to process excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Solid understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with OneStream or similar consolidation/reporting tools preferred.
  • Interest in or experience leveraging automation, data analytics, and/or artificial intelligence tools within an accounting or finance environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across teams and levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support physical inventory counts or costing projects.
