The University of La Verne's LaFetra College of Education invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach and support candidates across our Teacher Education pathways, including the B.A. in Elementary Education, the M.A. in Inclusive Education, and our Special Education (Education Specialist Mild/Moderate and Extensive Support Needs), Single Subject, and Multiple Subject credential programs. Elementary Education
Qualifications:
1. Master's Degree in Education or related field
2. Experience teaching (level dependent upon course)
3. Experience working with diverse populations
K-8 Multiple Subject credential (dependent on course)
4. Single Subject Credential (dependent on course)
5. Doctoral Degree (Preferred) in Education, Human Development or related field
6. Preference will be given to those with evidence of excellence in teaching, scholarship and mentoring.
Education Specialist - Mild/Moderate and/or Extensive Support Needs
Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Education
2. Current Clear CA teaching credential (Mild/Moderate or Extensive Support Needs) with English Language Learner and Autism Authorizations
3. Commitment to and experience working with diverse student populations, including English Language learners
4. Minimum of 3 years of successful elementary or secondary teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Doctorate in Education, Special Education, or related field
2. Understanding of Disabilities or Inclusive Education Studies
3. Experience working in inclusive educational environments
4. Experience with assessments, data-driven instruction, and technology
Single Subject
Single Subject Teaching Credential - Subject Specific Pedagogy
Required Qualifications:
1. Master's degree or higher with a current Clear California Single Subject
2. Commitment to and experience working with diverse student populations including English Language learners
3. A minimum of three years of successful secondary teaching experience
4. Ability to work with adult learners
5. Effective communication and organization skills
Preferred Qualifications
1. Doctorate in Education or related field
2. Teaching experience in an urban setting
3. Experience with online instruction
Multiple Subject
Required Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Education, Reading, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field
2. A valid California Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with an English Learner Authorization
3. Experience working with diverse student populations including English Language Learners
4. At least three years of successful elementary or middle school teaching experience
5. Experience in teaching and/or working with adult learners
