Job Schedule: 9/80 (Every other Friday off)

Job Description:

The Assembly & Integration Focus Factory of L3Harris Space and Mission Systems located in Rochester, New York, is looking for an experienced Tool Maker to join the Composite Structures team. Candidate must possess a machining and fabrication background and ability to work within tight tolerance specifications. Scope is focused on the timely execution of assigned tasks as an individual contributor and function well within a team environment. This role involves working directly with engineers on the design, development and fabrication of new and existing products to optimize design for manufacturability.

Essential Functions:

Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions
Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation
Must be mechanically inclined with ability to work with very fragile and precise assemblies
Speak clearly and concisely and present ideas effectively to individuals or groups
Identify problems and suggest solutions
Understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices
Perform as an individual contributor as well as within a team environment
Demonstrate appropriate computer knowledge
Proficiently operating mills, surface grinder, and lathe
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience; Or, 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 2 to 4 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays, and some travel
Skilled Journeyman's Certification
Experience with G-Code and G-Code Macro's for machine programming
Experience with CNC programming utilizing Mastercam
Experience with Prototrak programming and operation
Experience working with composite materials
Experience working in a mechanical fabrication discipline
Experience with MIG/TIG welding
Experience with sheet metal fabrication

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $55,000-$102,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays.
