Citizenship and Science Academy of Rochester is excited to announce an opening for an Elementary Art Teacher (Grades K-6) for the 2026-2027 school year.
We are seeking dynamic, collaborative, flexible, and engaging educators. Our school provides a supportive environment for new teachers, and we strongly encourage experienced educators to apply.
New York State Certification is required.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and New York State learning standardsÂ
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Common Core and state standardsÂ
- Modify, redesign, and develop curriculum as needed to meet student needsÂ
- Collaborate with colleagues to align instructional goals, objectives, and methodsÂ
- Prepare students for relevant standardized assessmentsÂ
- Apply strong content knowledge and effective instructional practicesÂ
- Use data and analytics to inform instruction and improve student outcomesÂ
- Maintain a positive, structured, and effective classroom environmentÂ
- Foster creativity, self-expression, and appreciation for the arts in all studentsÂ
- Organize and display student artwork to celebrate student achievementÂ
- Embrace feedback, accountability, and continuous professional growth

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferredÂ
- Valid New York State Teaching Certification (required)Â

- Prior teaching experience (preferred), though new teachers are encouraged to applyÂ
- Fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of EducationÂ
