Citizenship and Science Academy of Rochester is excited to announce an opening for an Elementary Art Teacher (Grades K–6) for the 2026–2027 school year.


We are seeking dynamic, collaborative, flexible, and engaging educators. Our school provides a supportive environment for new teachers, and we strongly encourage experienced educators to apply.

New York State Certification is required.


Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum and New York State learning standards 
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Common Core and state standards 
  • Modify, redesign, and develop curriculum as needed to meet student needs 
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align instructional goals, objectives, and methods 
  • Prepare students for relevant standardized assessments 
  • Apply strong content knowledge and effective instructional practices 
  • Use data and analytics to inform instruction and improve student outcomes 
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and effective classroom environment 
  • Foster creativity, self-expression, and appreciation for the arts in all students 
  • Organize and display student artwork to celebrate student achievement 
  • Embrace feedback, accountability, and continuous professional growth
