Citizenship and Science Academy of Rochester is excited to announce an opening for an Elementary Art Teacher (Grades K-6) for the 2026-2027 school year.


We are seeking dynamic, collaborative, flexible, and engaging educators. Our school provides a supportive environment for new teachers, and we strongly encourage experienced educators to apply.

New York State Certification is required.


Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and New York State learning standards 
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Common Core and state standards 
  • Modify, redesign, and develop curriculum as needed to meet student needs 
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align instructional goals, objectives, and methods 
  • Prepare students for relevant standardized assessments 
  • Apply strong content knowledge and effective instructional practices 
  • Use data and analytics to inform instruction and improve student outcomes 
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and effective classroom environment 
  • Foster creativity, self-expression, and appreciation for the arts in all students 
  • Organize and display student artwork to celebrate student achievement 
  • Embrace feedback, accountability, and continuous professional growth
