Summary:

The Director of Business Systems & PMO leads the execution of business systems initiatives, analytics, and process improvements that support company operations. This role plays a key part in business requirements, process design, user adoption, project coordination, data governance, and analytics.


Serving as the primary bridge between business leadership and technology, the Director ensures systems such as ERP (e.g., NetSuite), WMS, integrations, and analytics platforms including Microsoft Power BI deliver measurable operational and financial value. The role leads teams responsible for business analysis, project management, master data, and analytics, ensuring technology investments align with business objectives, are properly prioritized, effectively governed, and supported by high-quality data.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team across the business analysis, project management, master data, and analytics functions
  • Define and execute the business systems roadmap in alignment with organizational strategy and CIO direction
  • Establish governance frameworks, change management processes, and documentation standards for enterprise systems
  • Identify and eliminate inefficiencies through automation, integration, and system optimization
  • Own the full lifecycle of business-critical systems in coordination with the Director of Application Development
  • Oversee the project management office (PMO), ensuring consistent delivery standards, methodology, and portfolio visibility across the organization
  • Remove blockers, manage escalations, and maintain executive visibility into project status, risks, and timelines
  • Partner with Application Development and Service Delivery on cross-functional initiatives
  • Develop and enforce data governance standards, data quality processes, and master data stewardship across enterprise systems with Master Data Analyst
  • Oversee the building and maintaining of Power BI analytics, dashboards, and infrastructure
  • Leverage analytics to surface operational trends, risks, and opportunities for leadership
  • Serve as a primary liaison between the business units and IT to translate business needs into technology solutions
  • Manage relationships with software vendors, system integrators, and third-party service providersย 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business systems, enterprise applications, or IT management
  • 3+ years in a people management role leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Hands-on experience with major ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and WMS
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing data governance, master data management, and analytics functions
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and ongoing operational responsibilities
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills
  • PMP, ITIL, or Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Experience with Power BI or comparable BI/analytics platforms preferred

Physical Requirements

This position is primarily sedentary, requiring approximately 7 hours of sitting and 1 hour of walking during an 8-hour workday. The role also requires frequent computer use, communication, reading, and fine motor skills.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and walk between buildings as needed.
  • Frequent typing and computer input, with 6-8 hours of computer use per day.
  • Frequent speaking, reading, writing, and visual and auditory attention.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, lift, and perform occasional filing and climbing as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds for up to 2 hours.
