Job Summary:
Rush University Medical Center is a leading healthcare institution that is seeking an Application Analyst to develop, install, maintain, and modify application programs. The role involves identifying user requirements, analyzing business problems, and recommending technology solutions while ensuring adherence to Rush's mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities:
• Handles moderately complex work critical to the organization.
• Prepares detailed program specifications, identifies required inputs, and coordinates the system's installation with the user department, ensuring satisfactory results.
• Implements required hardware and software components for approved applications.
• Investigates user problems and needs, identifies their source, and determines possible solutions.
• Analyzes user project proposals to include identifying potential problem areas and recommends optimum approaches for project path.
• Participates in the development, implementation, installation, and testing of applications software.
• Contributes through code/algorithm development and other means, for the development of tools and interfaces between application programs and for the development of debugging programs.
• Investigates, recommends and installs new applications.
• Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
• Documents programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor degree.
• 3 years of system analysis and/or application support experience.
• Experience with application configuration tools.
• Knowledge of HTML.
• Experience evaluating and interpreting end user information requirements, and to developing appropriate systems and/or applications solutions.
• Knowledge of computer/computational science, data analysis, and programming technologies, concepts, and techniques.
• Experience developing, implementing, installing, testing, and troubleshooting complex applications software.
• Experience recording, tracking, corresponding, and documenting resolution of user problems by means of problem reporting database software.
• Ability to develop technical documentation for training, software/hardware use, user procedures, and as-required project deliverables.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical, multi-tasking and problem solving skills.
• PC proficiency with typical IT tools like Microsoft Office Suite (MS Teams, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and ServiceNow.
