Job Summary

Big Sandy Community and Technical College is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Human Services Instructor position. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to student success and help shape the future of the Human Services program.

Job Duties:

Teach Human Services courses effectively using engaging and innovative instructional techniques
Participate in the ongoing evaluation, development, and improvement of Human Services course offerings
Assist in developing and implementing a strategic plan to enhance the Human Services program, including schedulingย  ย  and student recruitment initiatives
Provide academic advising and support for students
Maintain and enhance professional knowledge through ongoing professional development
Engage in college and community service activities, including committee work and community relations
Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or a related social/behavioral science OR Master'sย  ย  ย  ย  ย degree in any field with at least 18 graduate hours in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field ORย  ย Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of relevant professional experience
Demonstrated commitment to student learning and instructional excellence
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with technology and instructional tools
Commitment to the comprehensive community college mission and collaborative teamwork
Alignment with KCTCS and Big Sandy Community and Technical College strategic goals

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous teaching experience in higher education or adult learning environments.
