Position Summary

Apogee's Data, Analytics & Integration organization focuses on implementing processes and solutions for Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Analytics and Integration.

This Data Platform Engineer will fill a critical role in enhancing and supporting the Data Analytics environment for prioritized Apogee Data Domains; educating our IT & Business Partners; implementing and supporting future Data Integration and Data Analytics solutions; and consulting on data-related projects from the data engineering perspective across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data pipeline architectures, ensuring data quality and consistency across multiple data sources

  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions

  • Help implement best practices for data governance, data security, and data privacy, ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards

  • Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support data ingestion, transformation, and integration from various sources, including APIs, databases, and external data providers

  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime

  • Organize and monitor testing, training, documentation, and sign offs related to data platforms

  • Configure and implement data management and analytic platform changes

  • Document data pipeline architectures, workflows, and procedures for internal and external stakeholders

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the integration of data-driven insights into business processes and decision-making

  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's in computer science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex data pipelines

  • Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts

  • Experience with Databricks

  • Experience with the Microsoft Power BI data visualization tool

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • A strong desire to stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in data engineering

Preferred:

  • Master's degree

  • Experience with Snowflake Data Cloud

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Azure framework (e.g., Analysis Service, Data Factory, ...)

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid work environment, with a combination of on-site office presence and remote work. The role involves primarily sedentary work, with extended periods of sitting and frequent use of computers and standard office equipment. Regular participation in virtual and in-person meetings is required, including collaboration with team members and stakeholders across multiple locations.

Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000
