Central OfficeUnpaid internships must be arranged through a formal agreement with an institution of higher education and the Lincoln Parish School District.
You must have approval from the supervising faculty member and be approved by the district.
APPLICATION PROCESS
  1. After obtaining approval from the supervising faculty member and district personnel, the candidate submits an application.
  2. The intern will complete the online unpaid internship application and acknowledgement of volunteer policies, procedures, and responsibilities.
  3. The intern will be required to complete criminal background checks and fingerprints and assume the cost of the background check ($60.75).
  4. Some interns may be required to complete additional trainings.
PROHIBITED CRIMINAL OFFENSES
Please note that the Lincoln Parish School Board policy and Louisiana law consider the crimes listed below as prohibited criminal offenses as set forth in Louisiana R.S. 15:587.1, and include convictions for attempt or conspiracy to commit any of these offenses. Conviction or plea of nolo contendere, even if adjudication was withheld, will be considered for the purpose of determining volunteer eligibility. In addition, expungements, first offender pardons, and pretrial diversions are disclosed in criminal background checks conducted in accordance with R.S. 17:15, and specifically:
  1. any felony conviction;
  2. misdemeanor and felony offenses which include, but are not limited to, offenses defined in the following table:
