General Description

We are seeking a highly skilled consultant to join our team as a Project Delivery Lead. The Project Delivery Lead is the overall single resource accountable for the developing the scope & driving the overall execution of the entire automation and OT scope for large scale projects. The delivery lead will oversee the design and implementation of all facets of the digital / automation scope for large scale capital projects. This role may be engaged as early as the concept design phase of projects and remain engaged throughout project execution. Scope areas may include process automation systems (DCS & PLC), facility automation systems (building management systems (BMS), access control, energy monitoring systems, video surveillance systems, etc.), SIS systems, IT & OT technologies and systems, Instrumentation and Controls (I&C), production execution systems (MES & electronic log books), process analytical technologies (PAT), and benchtop / laboratory analytical systems. The Project Delivery Lead will be supported by multiple technical leads associated with each of the various scope areas within automation.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of automation engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of aspects of the digital / automation scope of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Support the development of project schedules with the correct milestones and definition of key predecessors and successors across all disciplines
  • Drive the development of resource plans and loading curves according to overall project and equipment FAT schedules
  • Drive the development of scope estimates and budgets and track consumption and variances through execution in conjunction with project controls team
  • Advise customers on technology selection and project execution strategy to align with the project critical success factors
  • Drive the resolution of complex technical issues across disciplines, scopes, & vendors.
  • Act as an Owner's Agent to ensure project scope and deliverables from other vendor's meet the client requirements
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
  • Participate in sales pursuits by developing estimates and scopes of work in support of proposal development.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in facility automation technology and industry best practices.

Required Competencies

  • US Citizenship required
  • Experience with various automation platforms (DCS, PLC, facility automation, etc.)
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple scopes simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support project requirements in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia – approximately 50%

Required Education & Experience

  • S. in CHE, EE, ME, Comp. Eng, Systems Eng., or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in large scale capital projects, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Experience/Competencies

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as ISA and IEC.
  • Experience working in FDA regulated industries and experience with computer systems validation.
