Job description

Palmetto Moon is a rapidly growing specialty apparel, accessories, home and gifts retailer celebrating the Southern lifestyle. A company that is Southern at heart, Palmetto Moon's focus is on relentless customer service and a premium assortment, with stores carrying countless affordable gifts and a wide selection of collegiate gear and lifestyle brands, including Vineyard Vines, YETI, Chubbies, Southern Marsh, Simply Southern, Hey Dude, Old Row, Costa, Rainbow Sandals and many more.
Dock Team Associates play a key role in managing and overseeing the flow of inventory, both incoming and outgoing. This includes efficiently loading and unloading shipments and collaborating with the Distribution Center (DC) Floor Lead to manage the movement of goods for processing. The Dock Team Associate is also responsible for accurately processing shipment transactions in the appropriate systems. This role requires a commitment to following and enforcing all Palmetto Moon policies and safety protocols, willingness to learn, and flexibility to changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments; ensuring pallets and product are staged appropriately
  • Prepare shipping labels and documentation, properly secure and seal boxes for shipping
  • Sort, count, package, and label merchandise to prep for shipment to stores
  • Inspect shipment for damages, loss or defects and notify supervisor of findings
  • Follow proper steps to accurately receive goods when they arrive
  • Assist the Distribution Center Supervisor and Floor Leads with enforcement of compliance with all legal, safety, and internal company procedures
  • Safely operate forklift, dolly, or hand cart to move product and boxes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply
  • Experience in a warehouse, shipping, or logistics role is preferred but not required
  • Ability to learn and proficiently work with a computer-based tracking system (e.g. WMS, ERP) or shipping software is required, previous experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data entry
  • Self-motivation with exceptional time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet production/shipping deadlines
  • Perform other responsibilities instructed by those in charge
Working Conditions
  • The job involves the physical ability to carry, lift, push, pull or move items weighing up to 20-30 pounds frequently and items weighing up to 60 pounds with occasional frequency
  • Ability to work a dolly and forklift operation certification (certification training provided)
  • Requires routine movements, including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting
