Licensed Marriage And Family Therapist

Aveson Global Leadership Academy (AGLA) is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to support the social-emotional and mental health needs of students in a dynamic TK–12 charter school environment. At Aveson, we believe student wellness is foundational to academic success. The LMFT will play a vital role in supporting students and families through counseling services, crisis intervention, collaboration with educators and caregivers, and the development of school-based mental health supports aligned with our mission of Personalized Mastery Learning (PML), Social Leadership, and Healthy Living. Aveson Charter Schools serves a richly diverse Altadena and Pasadena community and is committed to creating inclusive, equitable, and student-centered learning environments where all students are known, valued, and supported. We seek team members who are passionate about educational equity, mental health advocacy, and whole-child development.

Under the direction of the AGLA Site Director, the LMFT provides direct and indirect mental health services to students in grades TK–12. This position supports students experiencing academic, emotional, behavioral, social, and mental health challenges through counseling, assessment, intervention, consultation, and collaboration with school teams and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services
  • Conduct mental health and behavioral risk assessments
  • Support crisis response and student safety interventions
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on student support plans
  • Partner with families, administrators, teachers, and outside providers
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and California regulations
  • Promote trauma-informed, restorative, and culturally responsive practices
  • Support school-wide wellness and mental health
