Job description

Metadata / Data Entry Clerk - Part-Time Temporary

The Marquee Media Team oversees media for the Marquee Brands: including Martha Stewart, Emeril Lagasse, Sur La Table. This extends from broadcast to streaming to internet to podcasts and social.

Marquee Brands is seeking an impeccably accurate, organized, and dependable Data Entry & Metadata Specialist with experience entering, reviewing, and transforming media (including recipes and how-to content) into structured data for editorial and/or commercial platforms.

The Data Entry & Metadata Specialist will assist the team to input, review, and organize magazine and book data into structured metadata.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with data stewards to identify and document metadata for a variety of content schemas
  • Review print and digital assets (recipe, food-themed articles, recipe thumbnails, how-to articles, and how-to videos) to capture necessary information (including timing, nutritional information, cuisine type, expertise level, image rights)
  • Review extracted data to ensure required attributes were accurately captured
  • Review extracted data for continuity and completeness
  • Ensure quality, integrity, and continuity: data must be input consistently and correct
  • Edit and update metadata tags according to predefined organization-based methodology and work within the content management system
  • Position includes research to determine brand-appropriate descriptions, subject terms, dates, and other applicable information

Qualifications

  • Experience assigning metadata to how-to print, digital, and video content for editorial and/or commercial platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain consistent accuracy and attention to detail while maintaining a high level of productivity
  • Highly thorough, organized, dependable, and committed to quality
  • Experience with DAM (Digital Asset Management) and CMS applications
  • Excellent keying and data entry skills
  • Possess a copyeditors eye for accuracy and continuity: must be able to spot spelling and grammar errors; must be able to review and correct own work
  • Ability to process substantial amounts of information quickly

Preferred Experience

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in metadata tagging for multimedia (tv, photo, print, digital, etc.) materials or related experience
  • At least 2-3 years of experience creating, testing, and/or preparing recipes for editorial and/or commercial platforms (print and/or digital)
  • Familiar with Martha Stewart editorial and creative point-of-view

Hourly Rate $20hr - $24hr
