Join Our Team at Redwood News KIEM/KVIQ!Redwood News KIEM/KVIQ is seeking a Part-Time Master Control Operator / News Production Assistant to support our News Production Department in Eureka, CA.
We're looking for a detail-oriented team player to join our technical crew for fast-paced daily newscasts and additional programming as assigned.
What You'll Do- Learn to operate our Commercial Broadcast Playback Systems to air and monitor television programming and commercials
- Train under the Technical Director to operate studio cameras, microphones, audio consoles, broadcast switchers, and lighting equipment
- Support live and recorded productions as part of the studio team
- Use Adobe Creative Suite tools (a plus, but not required)
- Strong organizational skills - able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment
- Attention to detail - accuracy matters in live broadcast
- Comfort using multiple computer systems
- Broadcast experience is helpful but not required - we will train the right candidate
- Location: Eureka, CA
- Schedule: Part-time
- Level: Entry-level
- Work Environment: In-person
