Description
HC Brands is seeking a Marketplace Assistant to join us in our mission to help our customers create impactful human connections through personalized products. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to learn the marketplace business from the ground up, starting with hands-on execution and growing toward owning strategy, improving performance, and helping run key marketplace channels like Amazon and Etsy.
As a Marketplace Assistant, you will create and improve product listings, support product visibility and conversion, help optimize profitability, and deliver useful shopping experiences for our customers. The role includes both daily execution and analytical work. Over time, the right person can build the judgment, channel knowledge, and leadership skills needed to take more ownership of marketplace strategy and business performance.
What you'll do:
  • Product Listing Creation: Work inside marketplace platforms to create and update product listings with accurate, useful information that helps customers make confident buying decisions.
  • Listing Optimization: Improve product listings for visibility and conversion, including descriptions, images, titles, bullets, and keywords.
  • SEO and Marketplace Rankings: Optimize product listings for SEO within marketplaces to enhance visibility, researching keywords and best practices.
  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing analyses to benchmark against industry standards and identify differentiation opportunities.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Use reporting tools to uncover insights that support better decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Customer Feedback Analysis: Review customer feedback across various marketplaces to inform product improvements and enhance user experience.
  • Strategic Pricing Support: Support competitive pricing recommendations and updates that balance sales growth, customer value, and profitability.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze marketplace performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Issue Resolution: Swiftly address policy and SKU-related issues to maintain marketplace health and compliance.
  • Adaptability and Cross-Departmental Support: Take on unique projects and support broader company objectives with a team-first mindset.

To do well in this role you'll need to:
Experience & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in data analysis: Ability to interpret and analyze data to make informed decisions.
  • Computer savvy, comfortable using software and digital tools, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms and technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Career Growth Opportunities:
  • Marketplace Ownership Path: Grow from supporting marketplace execution into helping own strategy, priorities, performance, and day-to-day business results across channels such as Amazon and Etsy.
  • Leadership Potential: Lead projects, own improvement initiatives, and eventually help guide how these marketplace businesses are run.
  • Strategic Influence: Earn the opportunity to shape marketplace and e-commerce strategies based on performance data, customer feedback, and competitive insights.
  • Specialization: Master the details of marketplace performance, including visibility, conversion, pricing, profitability, and customer experience.
  • Cross-Functional Growth: Collaborate across departments to understand how product, operations, creative, customer service, and technology all contribute to marketplace success.
  • What You Can Expect: By joining our team, you will play an important role in growing our marketplaces while learning how strong execution, customer focus, data, and profitability work together. You will work alongside talented colleagues in a culture that values passion, curiosity, collaboration, accountability, and winning.

Do your homework. Look at our website, our blogs, and our products. Get to understand what we're about, and come to the interview with that insight ready to tell us how you could play a part in that success.
Benefits:
We care deeply about making HC Brands an amazing place to work and invest a significant amount of time and energy into creating and maintaining a company culture that provides our team with a level of support while inspiring them to do their best work.
The specific benefits we offer include:
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 8 paid holidays
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • 401(k) plan with a company match on the first 5% contribution
  • 8 paid hours of community service time off
  • 50% employee discount on our products

Beyond the tangible benefits though:
  • You will be part of a growing team whose purpose is to create a culture that underscores connections with employees, customers, businesses, and community. While we're in the business of personalization, we also exist in a society where individual interactions are harder and harder to come by. In response to this challenge, we've made it our mission at HC Brands to prioritize people and relationships-one custom order at a time. It's not just a clever blurb on our website or a catchy acronym we pass around the office. It's what we do, and more importantly, it's who we are.
