As of Jul 15, 2026, the average yearly pay for marketing strategist entry level in the United States is $72,687.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $50,000.00 and $83,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Is it possible to get a marketing job with no experience?

Entry-level marketing strategist roles often accept candidates with little to no professional experience if they demonstrate strong communication skills, creativity, and a willingness to learn. Gaining relevant knowledge through online courses, certifications, or internships can improve chances of securing such positions. Employers may also value transferable skills from other fields or related activities like social media management or content creation.

Entry-level marketing strategist roles typically do not pay $4,000 a week without significant experience or advanced skills. Is a strategist an entry-level job?

A marketing strategist entry-level position typically requires some foundational knowledge of marketing principles, data analysis, and strategic planning. While some companies may offer entry-level roles, many strategist positions prefer candidates with prior experience or related internships, making it less common as a first job without relevant background or certifications. Skills in market research tools and strategic thinking are often essential for these roles.

How to get into marketing strategist?

To become a marketing strategist, entry-level candidates typically need a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Gaining experience through internships, developing skills in data analysis, digital marketing tools, and strategic planning, and obtaining certifications like Google Analytics or HubSpot can improve job prospects.
