Job description

Overview

Supports marketing and communications initiatives for both internal and external audiences, especially those efforts related to key clinical service lines. Supports projects for patient acquisition, general delivery network branding and national visibility efforts. Provides marketing communications support of the business development activities of assigned service lines. Develops a comprehensive set of marketing strategies and plans; and implements tactical objectives designed to achieve the goals of each plan. Acts in a consultative support capacity to the service line leadership, including clinical and administrative leaders of the business unit(s). Writes copy for printed materials, as well as electronic media including the web and social media sites. Works with media coordinator to provide assistance with proactive media relations, including writing press releases.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Service Line Support
    • Provides clinical service line marketing & advertising support to help acquire patients and support delivery network branding.
    • Assists administrative and clinical leaders in the creation and implementation of strategic marketing communication plans to support clinical service lines.
    • Develops and produces service line brochures compatible with overall marketing and communications plans. Coordinate production of promotional and educational materials with clients, graphic designers, photographers and printers
    • Provides writing support for advertising efforts. Works with advertising agencies, as appropriate.
    • Assists with the design, writing, and placement of advertising and other initiatives target at increasing the national visibility of the delivery networks, as appropriate.
  • Electronic Media
    • Provides writing (feature and clinical content) and photography support for delivery network Web sites.
    • Provides writing and photography for delivery network social media sites.
  • Media Relations
    • Contributes to media relations efforts.
    • Writes press releases, advisories and pitches to promote key clinical initiatives and advances to lay 10 and professional media
    • Participates in disaster or crisis communications plans.
    • Assists in coordinating and escorting media representatives visiting delivery network.
  • General Department Support
    • Serves as departmental representative to delivery network committees as assigned.
    • Takes 24-hour on-call assignment in rotation with others in the Marketing & Communications Department.
    • Supports development and community and government affairs efforts, as needed.
    • Supports key department initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors Degree in public relations, communications, marketing or related field. Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in marketing communications or related field. It's preferred that the candidate have experience with hospital or healthcare marketing. The candidate should have media relations experience; working knowledge of local and national print, Google Ads, paid social media and broadcast media. Excellent communications, presentations, project management, writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to deal effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds.

SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Computer - experience with web writing and content management systems.
