Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Digital Marketing will manage PVA’s development communications to donors online, overseeing digital advertising, donation and landing pages, the email fundraising program, text messaging program, and paid social media.  The Senior Manager of Direct Marketing is a self-starting, experienced digital expert – someone who tackles problems head-on, communicates clearly with peers and leadership, and gets the job done. They will be the “glue” between all development teams, developing and enacting a cohesive online strategy for donors and potential donors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategist and decision-maker on PVA’s digital fundraising campaigns;
  • Understand and address the online marketing needs of multiple development departments, including Direct Response, Individual Giving, and Corporate Development;
  • Build and maintain customer targeting lists, with a deep understanding of how eCRM, ad platforms, and email software interact and ability to collaborate with PVA’s Database Manager;
  • Develop donor personas and strategize tailored communications to relevant personas to maximize ROI for online fundraising efforts;
  • Manage PVA's email marketing strategy and email quality assurance;
  • Manage, develop, distribute, and analyze PVA stakeholder-centric journeys meeting mutually-agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators;
  • Serve as the main point of contact to test and send automated journeys and campaigns in the eCRM;
  • Manage donor texting software, vendor relationship, results reporting, and text messaging strategy;
  • Oversee digital marketing materials including ads, emails, and paid social media developed by external agencies;
  • Generate ideas, follow the data, and implement UX testing, to transform our donor websites and donation pages for a better user experience;
  • Dig for and resolve digital donor pain points for a seamless donation experience;
  • Research and report on evolving digital fundraising industry trends, tools and strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of digital marketing experience;
  • Minimum 3 years of digital fundraising experience
  • Understanding of CRM and digital communications software, including Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Blackbaud, and Luminate Online; 
  • Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills, ability and willingness to learn new technologies and fearless in the face of technical challenges;
  • Proficiency in Google analytics and other website analytics tools;
  • Excellent writing and copyediting skills;
  • Ability to consistently make data-driven decisions;
  • Self-starter attitude with project management skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines with quality product;
  • Strong team player who values input and feedback from peers, who focuses on the collective success of the development team and PVA;
  • Willing to take risks and experiment to learn and move PVA’s digital programs forward;
  • Up to 10% travel required
