Job Description: Sales and Operations Manager

Embarc seeks an experienced, self-motivated, and organized leader to be our full-time Sales and Operations Manager at our cannabis dispensary. What is the Job?

The Sales and Operations Manager oversees all Customer Experience and Sales Initiatives while also managing store operations, leading the team, and supporting inventory operations. This role requires a laser-like focus on all aspects of the customer experience, driving sales, community engagement, strong leadership, organizational skills, and strict compliance with company policies and state regulations.


Core Responsibilities - Customer Experience:

  • Leads the front of house store team to create an exceptional experience for customers and employees, and to exceed sales goals.
  • Engage with customers on the sales floor, answering questions and recommending products.
  • Champion brand education and product knowledge training.
  • Analyze sales metrics and employee performance to drive business results.
  • Build customer retention using company loyalty programs.
  • Lead the communication and execution of sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Execute visual merchandising to uphold company standards.
  • Lead community engagement, field marketing, and events.
  • Manage customer reviews across all platforms.

Store Operations:

  • Supervise daily store operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and merchandising.
  • Support the implementation of company policies, legal regulations, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure that facility issues are rectified to provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 35 lbs
  • Act as a PPSO as needed.


Leadership:

  • Mentor, train, and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, development, and accountability.
  • Act as a key point of contact between store management and staff.
  • Understand and follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement governing all hourly team members.
  • Build a culture that aligns with the core values of the organization.
  • Utilize critical problem-solving skills to make decisions for the store.
  • Be a champion of change.

Inventory:

  • Ensure inventory supports daily sales, marketing initiatives, and customer experience.
  • Assist with all aspects of inventory management: intake, counts, pricing, transfers, recalls, stocking, and compliance.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate counts and records in METRC and POS systems.
  • To ensure accuracy, assist with recurring audits, spot checks, and cycle counts.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local cannabis regulations.


What Skills We're Looking For:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with both staff and vendors.
  • Deep understanding of customer experience and driving of sales
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proficiency in retail systems, compliance software, and reporting tools.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Proven track record of utilizing training and resources to drive a culture of exceptional customer experience and sales.
  • Experience with Treez POS system.
  • At least two years of management or supervisory experience in retail or operations.
  • Experience with computerized inventory and compliance systems.


Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time exempt role in a retail store open 365 days a year. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required based on business needs.
