Job Summary
Summary: Responsible for assisting the food service operation with marketing promotions, merchandising, social media and student engagement programs to contribute to guest satisfaction and driving revenue on campus. This position requires a creative individual with knowledge of Generation Z and Centennial marketing tactics to drive engagement with the campus dining program. This position reports to the Director of Dining Services or General Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in all marketing, advertising, and promotional activities.
  • Interact with guests, and relays relevant comments from guests directly to supervisors.
  • Represents the company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all guest, associate, and university personnel interactions to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Supports sales growth tactics, including voluntary meal plans, retail, and catering.
  • Assists with planning, organizing and hosting of promotions and events, including national brand and vendor promotions.
  • Acts as a brand representative to guests, promoting various products and services.
  • Assists in the execution of guest feedback and market research programs.
  • Hands on support at events, unit set up, program implementation.
  • Ensures quality and timely web content and implements social media strategies to drive followers and engagement.
  • Assists with client and external communications assets, including reports, presentations, and news.
  • Maintains promotional inventory and fulfillment.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned, including supporting operations with evening or weekend shifts as needed in the business.

Education and Experience: Associate's degree in marketing, communications, or business, or equivalent of two years of related on the job experience preferred. Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal, and both verbal and written communication skills are essential. Ability to present to large groups. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, In Design. Experience with social media tactics to increase brand awareness.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Need to be able to write routine and correspondence. Individual needs to be able to speak effectively before groups of associates or guests
Other Qualifications: High integrity, strong work ethic, self-motivated, team player, positive attitude in corporate environment, excellent communication and guest service skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects, work effectively and efficiently with high quality assurance and success measurements. A successful candidate will be adaptable, flexible and possess desire to learn and passion to succeed.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, and bend at the waist. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
