Job description

Position:                               Marketing & Event Coordinator

Employment Status:              Full-Time, Salary - Exempt

Reports to:                             Chief Strategy Officer (CSO)

Location:                                     Bonner Springs, KS 66012

JOB SUMMARY:

The Marketing & Event Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the company’s marketing initiatives, events, trade shows, customer activities, and internal employee events.  The position helps promote the company’s brand, strengthen customer and employee relationships, and ensure marketing and event activities are professionally planned and executed.

The Marketing & Event Coordinator works closely with Sales, Operations, Human Resources, and company leadership to coordinate event logistics, promotional materials, communications, social media content, and other marketing activities.  The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, creativity, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.


This position will coordinate events from initial planning through completion, including budgeting, vendor coordination, scheduling, registrations, promotional materials, set up onsite support, and post-event follow-up.  The Marketing & Event Coordinator will also assist with maintaining consistent company branding and supporting the company’s overall marketing strategy.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Travel regularly to active job sites and branch locations throughout the service area to capture photo and video content
  • Champion a consistent content-capture process, ensuring key projects, equipment, and milestones are documented
  • Operate a drone to capture aerial photos and video of job sites and crane operations (FAA Part 107 certification required or must be obtained within an agreed timeframe after hire)
  • Shoot photo and video content for use on social media, the company website, brochures, and proposals, and send raw assets to the marketing agency for editing and production
  • Coordinate with project managers, operators, and site supervisors to schedule site visits and understand shoot logistics and safety requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Wilkerson job sites and our outside marketing agency, fulfilling their content requests and shot lists in a timely manner
  • Partner with the agency on ongoing campaigns, providing raw footage, photos, and site access/logistics support needed to keep projects moving
  • Maintain Wilkerson social media platforms
  • Organize and maintain a well-tagged content library/asset archive for easy use by the broader team through SharePoint
  • Work alongside various team members to coordinate content capture for employee spotlights, equipment features, and project case studies
  • Stay current on jobsite safety protocols and PPE requirements; complete any required site safety training
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • A strong eye for photography and visual storytelling. A portfolio or work samples are required as part of the hiring process
  • Experience with a DSLR/mirrorless camera and an understanding of basic shot composition and lighting
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, or willingness to obtain one within [90 days] of hire (company will support training/testing costs)
  • Comfort working outdoors, around heavy equipment, and on active construction/industrial sites
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly within the service area
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — content needs to be captured, labeled, and delivered on time
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to manage a shoot schedule independently
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with an external team/agency, including responding to requests and turning around content on deadline
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, media, photography, or a related field — this is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone transitioning to marketing.


PREFERRED SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED):

    • Existing drone flight experience or personal drone equipment
    • Experience in construction, crane and heavy equipment, or industrial settings
    • Familiarity with basic graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Photoshop

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop or crouch.
    • Ability to walk active job sites, including uneven terrain, and wear required PPE (hard hat, safety vest, steel-toe boots, etc.)
    • Ability to lift and carry camera and drone equipment (up to 25 lbs.)
    • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
