Job Title: Development Associate

Organization: SAVE – Suicide Awareness Voices of Education
Location: Bloomington, MN
Reports To: Director of Development

 

Scope of Position: The Development Associate provides administrative, communications, and fundraising support to advance the organization’s mission and development goals. This position completes data entry, pulls 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Development and Donor Support
  • Enter, maintain, and update donor, sponsor, volunteer, and organizational records within the organization’s database or CRM system.
  • Process gifts, pledges, and event revenue while ensuring accurate donor records and reporting.
  • Prepare and coordinate donor acknowledgments, stewardship activities, and recognition efforts.
  • Assist with donor prospect research and the identification of potential funding opportunities.
  • Support fundraising campaigns, appeals, peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, and donor engagement initiatives.
  • Generate donor lists, reports, and data exports to support fundraising and communications activities.
  • Assist with sponsorship tracking, fulfillment, and recognition.
Event Coordination and Fundraising Support
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising and community engagement events.
  • Assist with event logistics, registration, timelines, vendor coordination, and attendee communications.
  • Develop event materials and support event marketing and participant engagement efforts.
  • Coordinate volunteers and event-related administrative needs as appropriate.
  • Assist with post-event reporting, donor follow-up, and stewardship activities.
Administrative and Operational Support
  • Coordinate scheduling for development meetings, donor engagement activities, and internal planning sessions.
  • Assist with departmental tracking systems, reporting, and project management.
  • Support the preparation of fundraising materials, presentations, and meeting documents.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for development activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the development team as needed.
Communications and Marketing Support
  • Draft, design, and distribute newsletters, donor communications, and fundraising materials.
  • Assist with organizational storytelling and stewardship communications.
  • Support communications related to events, campaigns, sponsorships, and organizational updates.
  • Help maintain consistent organizational messaging and branding across fundraising and outreach efforts.
  • Assist with social media, website updates, and other development-related communications as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, public relations, business administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database or CRM systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism with donors, board members, and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or communications.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and donor databases.

Compensation and Benefits:
